Galaxy A20

Following the launch of the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50, Samsung has now launched a new A-series smartphone in India — the Galaxy A20. Sitting in the highly crowded sub-15k price segment in India, the Galaxy A20 packs some impressive specs for a budget Samsung smartphone.

At the front, the Galaxy A20 features a 6.4-inch HD+ Infinity-V Super AMOLED display. The phone has a plastic body with a stunning design. Inside the phone is Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 7884 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a dedicated microSD card slot. Other specs of the Galaxy A20 include a 4,000mAh battery, 15W fast wired charging, USB-C connectivity, 3.5mm jack, rear fingerprint scanner, and more.

For the camera, Samsung has gone for an interesting dual-camera approach at the rear. This includes a 13MP f/1.9 shooter along with an ultra-wide angle 5MP f/2.2 shooter. At the front, there is an 8MP f/2.0 shooter for selfie duties.

Impressively, the Galaxy A20 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and features Samsung’s One UI which packs plenty of customization options and features.

The Galaxy A20 goes on sale in India from April 8 for Rs 12,490. It will be available in Red, Blue, and Black colors.

Our Take

The Galaxy A20 does not beat the Redmi Note 7 in terms of specs or performance. Or any other Android device from Asus or Realme in the same price segment. However, it comes with its own set of strengths which include a Super AMOLED display, an ultra-wide angle shooter, 15W fast charging with 4,000mAh battery, and One UI.

Samsung has been making the right moves with its Galaxy A-series to reclaim its lost market share in the Indian smartphone market and the Galaxy A20 is another good device from the company.
